Raman Sehgal joins the company from marcoms agency Cool Blue where he was account manager. He takes on the newly created role of marketing communications manager.
Northumberland-based The Specials Laboratory manufactures unlicensed medicines for the retail pharmaceutical and hospital markets.
As part of its services, the company could be asked by a GP to create a liquid medicine for a drug that has only been licensed in tablet form. Unlicensed medicines are usually bespoke and can be difficult to get hold of.
Sehgal joins the company following six months working at Cool Blue. Before that he was at marcoms agency Karol Marketing, where he worked on The Specials Laboratory account. He previously worked at Heinz on the tomato ketchup brand.
At the Specials Laboratory Sehgal will be responsible for all the company's PR activity. He will also handle the internal comms for the company's 150 staff. He will report to MD Fiona Cruickshank.
The company currently uses Golley Slater Newcastle for its PR activity.
