Global Tolerance wins brief from Holocaust Centre

The Holocaust Centre has hired Global Tolerance to help promote an event to mark the 70th anniversary of Kristallnacht, the Nazi attack on the Jews that preceded the Holocaust.

The agency will handle a general campaign about the root causes of genocide to garner mainstream media interest in the commemorative event.

It will launch an online resource for the centre in a couple of months, asking people to share their stories of social exclusion and cultural discrimination.

It will encourage relevant dignitaries and the general public to attend the event. It will also target Jewish media.

Global Tolerance MD Simon Cohen will lead the account and report to The Holocaust Centre director Stephen Smith.

It is the first time that the centre has brought in an external agency.

Kristallnacht refers to the night of 9 November 1938 when 91 Jews were murdered in Nazi Germany and 25,000 to 30,000 were arrested and deported to concentration camps.
