Mantra to boost CSR in business

Mantra PR has secured a six-figure brief to encourage UK businesses to take CSR more seriously, beating eight other agencies to the account.

The Loewy-owned agency has been handed a retainer by Business in the Community (BITC), a charity whose members make up a fifth of the UK private sector workforce. The business is thought to be worth about £100,000.

Mantra will focus on the consumer media, targeting national newspapers, broadcast and the HR press. Director Nick Bishop, who will lead the account, said he would encourage employers to take issues such as employee health more seriously.

BITC has more than 850 members, including Barclays, Gala Coral and Marks & Spencer.
