Mantra wins six-figure CSR brief

Mantra has secured a brief to encourage CSR in UK businesses, beating eight other agencies to the six-figure account.

The Loewy agency has been handed a retainer by Business in the Community (BITC), a charity whose members make up a fifth of the UK private sector workforce.

Mantra, led by director Nick Bishop, will ‘encourage employers to take issues like employees' health more seriously'. ‘We'll raise awareness of race and gender in the workplace,' added Bishop. Mantra will focus on the consumer media, targeting ‘predominantly nationals, broadcast and the HR press.'

Bishop said that Mantra had been invited to pitch on recommendation from a journalist. Nine agencies were approached initially, with a shortlist of four drawn up in April. The business is thought to be worth about £100,000.

BITC has over 850 members, including Barclays, Gala Coral and Marks & Spencer.
