Opinion: Letters - ... and it could save more than money

Recession is a time for reassesment of strategy but not necessarily change to that strategy. Businesses such as BSkyB and M&S will remain committed to their 'green' activities because they have been extremely successful on many levels and that success will, no doubt, continue.

The greatest concern is that those businesses that have not started to genuinely go 'green' will use the downturn as an excuse not to invest - a mistake that in the long-term will cost not only their business but all of us.

At green.tv we know there is an increasing demand for information about all things 'green' because our audience figures continue to grow (up 20 per cent in three months) and the figures Futerra quotes for the value of eco-friendly consumers show a booming market sector.

If businesses are prepared to take a slightly longer term view, 'green' could actually be the saviour of the economy (and a lot else besides).
