Ex-Tory aide joins recruitment firm

Political recruitment specialist Ellwood and Atfield has appointed a former chief of staff to ex-Tory leader Iain Duncan Smith.

Jenny Ungless was Duncan Smith's right-hand woman from 2001 to 2002, while he was party leader. Before that, Ungless helped set up the Parliamentary Resources Unit, a research and briefing service for MPs at the House of Commons.

She also had a brief stint as head of government relations for the Association of British Travel Agents. More recently, she has run her own career-coaching business.

Ungless joins Ellwood and Atfield as an associate director.
