Think-tank boss moves to APCO

APCO Worldwide has signed up the communications chief at Policy Exchange, the right-leaning think-tank with links to Conservative Party leader David Cameron.

Steven King leaves Policy Exchange after two years as external relations director. The think-tank was set up in 2002 by Nicholas Boles, now Boris Johnson's chief of staff at City Hall, and Michael Gove, now in the shadow cabinet.

Before joining Policy Exchange, King spent six years as an adviser to former first minister of Northern Ireland David Trimble.

King joins APCO as an associate director and is the second significant hire in a year for the agency, following last year's appointment of Razi Rahman, a former aide to Tory Blair (PRWeek, 18 July 2007).
