Two agencies for Men's Health

A men's health charity is using two PR agencies to urge the Government and businesses to deliver health-improvement services in the workplace.

Men's Health Forum will launch its campaign during its annual Men's Health Week, which kicks off on 9 June. The charity is working with Berkeley PR and Munro & Forster.

Berkeley PR is lobbying government and businesses with the charity's proposal on new health practices at work. It wants to see employers change health and safety policies to improve the health of workers, rather than continuing the current practice of concentrating on reducing the risk to employee safety or managing employee sickness.

The agency will target policymakers and business decision-makers with articles in human resources, nursing, occupational health and business publications.

Meanwhile, Munro & Forster will promote a 'Man in the Dock' event on 9 June.

Staged in a mock courtroom, a man will be put on trial for failing to take proper care of himself. A trial will establish whether the fault lies in his genes, with the way he was brought up to think and behave as a man, or with health services that have failed to meet his needs.

Munro & Forster associate director Louise Veale will lead the team of three.

Both agencies are working for the charity on a pro-bono basis.
