Bounty is a parenting club and the site is one of the key channels through which we engage with our members. Our site provides information, support and products for young families. It provides a community with access to like-minded mums. We have more than 700,000 members, who are loyal and incredibly active - one in every five spends in excess of 12.5 hours on bounty.com every week
How is the site organised?
Our members needs differ depending on the stage they are, so we have four segments: Baby on Board, for expectant mums; New Arrivals, covering newborns to one-year-olds; Toddlers Years, covering one- to three-year-olds; and Growing Families, covering pre-school to five years.
What do you look for from PROs?
Topical pregnancy and parenting related stories are good and encourage debate on our forums, as do celebrity-led pregnancy stories. We are interested in stories that complement our mission statement: to help make family life easier. Straight product plug press releases that don't have a topical news angle will not get in.
Can you give us some examples?
We are interested in health issues such as mums' attitudes to drinking in pregnancy, whether mums feel media pressure to compete with celebrity mums, breast feeding in public, baby and child health and development, kids' nutrition, and so on.
What advice do you have for PROs?
Engage with our unrivalled audience. We run weekly polls so have a panel of 12,000 mums who are available for PR research. Work with our online community manager and use our forums to find case studies, or run competitions on line - the sheer size of our membership means that you can often reach many more mums through our site than via a brand's own website.
