Youth specialist for tobacco body

The body representing UK tobacco companies has hired a PR professional with youth marketing expertise as its first director of comms.

Dirk Vennix joins the Tobacco Manufacturers' Association (TMA) from his role as director of campaign operations at Enterprise Insight, which promotes enterprise for young people. He has also worked at Liverpool John Moores University as head of marketing and comms.

Vennix said his youth marketing background would be useful in the new role. 'Youth prevention work is a key part of what we're trying to achieve here,' he claimed.
