LETTER: Election was decided in the leafy suburbs

The reason why so many senior PROs called the London mayoral election result wrongly is that political campaigns are not just about good or bad PR - they are also about organisation, money and the extent to which the incumbent is trusted to go on delivering.

There is a false assumption in parts of our industry that election results can be prejudged by candidates' PR campaigns. It overlooks what actual voters are thinking. This election was decided in the leafy suburbs of outer London - not at the 'beltway' lunch tables of London restaurants.
