FRONT PAGE: Details of MoD spend revealed

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) will spend £750,000 of a £54.1m recruitment budget on 'traditional' PR campaigns this financial year.

The majority of the latter budget will be used on ­advertising and PR campaigns designed to encourage more people into the armed forces.

The findings, part of a PRWeek investigation into public sector spend, were ­obtained ­using the Freedom of Information Act.

The MoD also revealed it spent £5.5m on the ­‘Everest West Ridge' army recruitment drive that won campaign of the year in last October's PRWeek Awards.

Euro RSCG Biss Lancaster co-ordinated the campaign, which saw a group of army personnel tackle Mount Eve­rest's most difficult climb.
