Diary: Luxury car may be 'no bloody good'

Talking of things not always being quite what they seem, PRWeek fans who also read The Daily Telegraph may recall an advertisement that Mercedes-Benz ran in the 12 April edition. Page ten, if you still have it lying around.

The agency involved in the piece produced a fine ad, with the vehicle in question looking shiny and marvellous.

Look closer, however, and you will see the registration number reads NBG 212. Being from military stock, Diary knows well that NBG stands for 'no bloody good'.

Not, perhaps, the impression the German car manufacturer was trying to convey.
