Take an offer from the Halkidiki Hotel Association, which was looking for an agency willing to organise an event for no fewer than 200 business companies and 100 journalists.
The caveat was that all of them had to write an article about the hotels.
To make this more likely, the association added the following incentive:
'The journalists or the producers of the three best articles that are going to be published, or of the three best references made and the three best videos shown in a TV programme, will win a five-day trip in Halkidiki (northern Greece) with the whole expenses paid (sic).'
A fantastic opportunity, then, until tech agency Johnson King alerted Diary to the small print. 'All expenses paid' in Greece evidently means everything 'except the air tickets' to get there and back. How disappointing, the moussaka will have to wait.
