While I could never represent despotic regimes such as those of China, Burma, North Korea or Zimbabwe, I believe they have a right to be represented in the court of public opinion. Just like any criminal accused of a crime, these regimes must be allowed representation and counsel.
By threatening any consultancy that chooses to work for the Chinese government, the Free Tibet Campaign demonstrates a mean streak of despotic absolutism - the very quality it attributes to Beijing.
Perhaps PRWeek could organise a demonstration by its readers outside the offices of the Free Tibet Campaign, in the interests of safeguarding freedom of speech.
