2 Minutes with... Michael Traboulsi, Producer, Simon Calder's Travel Clinic

Simon Calder's Travel Clinic launched on LBC radio this month. What will the show cover?

The show updates listeners with the main headlines from the world of travel from the past seven days. Then we open the phone lines taking calls from every corner of London. Nothing is too much for Simon to answer. Listeners ask for advice on booking flights, claiming compensation for delays and advice on where to go and what to see. Each week we check exchange rates, world weather and have a destination of the week.

Can you give us an example of what gets in?

London links are always good. For example, we covered the London marathon. This gave us an opportunity to talk about other cities around the world where you can run a marathon. Immediately Simon was talking about New York, Spain and Norway. New places people have never heard of are also a good idea. Somewhere off the beaten track, somewhere original, sell it to us. Tell us why is it a good idea for people in London to book a flight or a holiday there.

How else can PROs get involved?

PROs may wish to consider sponsoring some of the features within the programme. These include an exchange rate update, a look at the world weather and strikes, storms and scams. This looks at any looming strikes that may disrupt travel plans, parts of the world likely to suffer from storms or hurricanes, and advice on any particular scams operating in certain parts of the world that could leave you short-changed.

What's most likely to get in?

Simon has been almost everywhere. A little research into an area of which he is fond could give you the edge over other destinations.

How and when is best to contact you?
