Standards Board appoints chief

The body responsible for investigating allegations of impropriety against councils has appointed a new head of communications.

Nottinghamshire County Council comms manager Richard Scott starts at the Standards Board for England later this month, after 13 years at the council.

A key part of his role will be communicating a forthcoming shift of responsibility for promoting high ethical standards back to councils.

Scott will oversee a team of eight and replaces Tim Bogan.
