Indigo PR called in for Scottish wildlife strategy

A Scottish landowner with plans to reintroduce moose, wolves and bears to Scotland has turned to agency backing to publicise his mission.

Alladale Estate owner Paul Lister is using Indigo PR for the brief. He has already introduced a pair of moose to his land, along with wild boar and 80,000 Caledonian pine, juniper, hazel and birch trees.

Lister wants to create a managed Highlands nature reserve, similar to those seen in Southern Africa, but his efforts have caused some concern among local farmers worried about the safety of livestock.

Lister wants to reassure people that predators, such as wolves, are housed within a controlled 50,000 acre fenced enclosure.

The reserve still has some way to go - Lister needs to double his estate to reach the planned acreage, and gain support from his neighbours and local government.

The plan is to establish the nature reserve within two to five years.
