BView, a business social networking website that details companies' credit ratings as well as user rankings, is being launched later this month.

X&Y Communications has been called in to promote the website.

The site already features 2.3 million firms and has credit details on 1.5 million.

BView uses weighted user rankings to let customers search for a company - unlike other sites that rank according to fees paid by the advertiser.

PR agencies are also listed within their own section, meaning the agencies will have to manage their own reputations as well.

'Wikipedia has super-users and this uses a similar system that gives each reviewer an influence score,' said BView founder and CEO Brad Liebmann.

'Companies that build a high profile through good PR can have that destroyed by bad customer experiences. This site will allow people to find the best and worst companies according to users.'

Companies getting poor reviews will have a chance to defend themselves on their profile and discussion forum.
