The community pharmacy chain selected Insight, headed by MD John Lehal, following a three-way pitch. APCO and Lexington Communications also pitched for the account, which is understood to be worth six figures.

Lloyds has more than 1,600 pharmacies across the UK, based in community and health centre locations.

Insight will attempt to capitialise on this month's Pharmacy White Paper, which envisages a larger role for pharmacies, with a range of traditional GP roles to be offered in English pharmacies.
