Ash moves in for consumer health specialist

Ash Communications has bolstered its healthcare team with the appointment of consumer health specialist Kelly Blaney as associate director.

Blaney joins the agency from her role as senior account director at Munro & Forster, where she worked across the agency's over-the-counter portfolio.

She joins Ash chief executive Sue Ash, managing director Lynda Heath and director Carys Thomas Ampofo as part of the management team in the newly created role.

Ash has 20 staff spread across its three divisions: healthcare, property and business and consumer.

Before M&F, Kelly worked at Fuel PR, Packer Forbes Communications and BMA Communications. During her ten years in healthcare PR, Blaney has worked on consumer health brands including Calpol, Benylin, Benadryl, Sudafed, Regaine, Migraleve and Nicorette.

At Ash, Blaney will work on the agency's pharma clients, including Daiichi Sankyo UK and York Pharma.

She will also work on Ash's new account for Australian suncare brand Sunsense, which is marketed by York Pharma in the UK (PRWeek, 11 April). The agency will work with specialists to strengthen sun awareness messages and encourage the use of higher SPF products.
