Abu Dhabi fund appoints first global comms head

The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), the world's largest sovereign wealth fund, has brought in its first global comms chief.

Euart Glendinning, former head of corporate communications at Morgan Stanley, joins as global head of corporate affairs.

The ADIA has more than £400m worth of investments and has been working to improve its global comms. Earlier this year, it called in Burson-Marsteller to co-ordinate comms.

Glendinning said he would 'build a team over time' and that the role would bring a wide variety of challenges. He added that he would play 'a pioneering role in building a communications function from grass roots'.

Separately, FD has been hired by the Pension Corporation for a financial and corporate brief 'to broaden the reach of its corporate profile and increase understanding of its business model across stakeholder interest groups'.

The Pension Corporation insures the risk associated with defined benefit pension schemes, removing pension liability from balance sheets.
