Formula One tyre company goes on PR offensive

Formula One tyre manufacturer Bridgestone has called in PR support as it looks to raise its profile among the general car-driving public.

The company, which claims to be 'the number one manufacturer of tyres worldwide' has appointed Smarts following a four-way pitch.

The agency's Birmingham office will support Bridgestone in building its brand profile in the UK though a strategic and media relations campaign.

Harriet Pearson, MD of Smarts in Birmingham, said: 'Bridgestone is a premium brand and has built strong credentials for safety and performance through its involvement in the Formula One and MotoGP arena.

'Our role is to take this message to a much wider audience and ensure that Bridgestone's profile in the UK reflects its position within the market.'
