Public Sector: Residents targeted in green initiative

The East of England Development Agency is planning a media relations drive after launching a campaign to encourage sustainability.

The agency is calling for community groups to provide ideas for innovative sustainability projects, such as water recycling, biofuels and renewable energy initiatives. The winners will be given £200,000 to develop the idea.

Led by interim PR manager Rebecca English, the campaign is being supported with a community carbon calculator allowing residents to work out their carbon footprint. The agency plans to promote the competition with activity including case studies of green community groups and a research piece into green heroes.
