Four agencies - including three based in Scotland - have been invited to pitch later this month. A decision is expected by May.
UK regional PR manager for easyJet Sarah Pritchett was tight-lipped about the brief and would only say the chosen agency would be responsible for the 'marketing and PR objectives of the company, with targeted consumer PR activity'.
The airline has bases in Edinburgh and Glasgow airports and operates flights from Inverness and Aberdeen. Pritchett said: 'We have grown significantly in Scotland over the past two years. There will also be new routes flying in and out of Scotland over the next few months.'
Meanwhile, Brando has won the European account for sister firm easyCar.com following a four-way pitch. It is the first time the car hire brand, also founded by well-known entrepreneur Stelios Haji-Ioannou, has used external PR support.
Experiential agency Brando will handle a brand-building campaign, as well as some experiential marketing. It will concentrate on raising the profile of the company among consumers through the social affairs, travel and consumer news pages. It will also target France and Germany.
In a third related development, Bristol-based agency JBP has been appointed as the UK PR agency for the easyGroup. The agency will handle corporate comms and consumer PR for 11 of the 17 easyGroup brands. These include easyMobile, easyWatch, easyValue, easyCinema and easyPizza.
