City & Corporate: BT move for Dow Jones journalist

Dow Jones financial reporter Daniel Thomas is quitting journalism for a role at BT's corporate press office.

He takes the position of senior press officer reporting to Ross Cook, BT Group director of media relations. Thomas was formerly a reporter at VNU and previously an account director at Band & Brown Communications.

BT is seldom out of the news. Last week, media and telecoms regulator Ofcom confirmed the group's Openreach compensation measures for failure to provide and repair services to agreed targets to the communications providers it supplies.

And Channel 4 News suggested BT is facing action for charges on customers who do not pay by direct debit.
