Public Affairs: Lib Dem star lands new role

Business in the Community, a charity supported by the Prince of Wales, has asked rising Liberal Democrat star Andrew Dakers to oversee its public affairs.

Dakers is the leader of Hounslow Council's Lib Dems. The 28-year-old is also the Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for the Labour seat in Brentford and Isleworth, for which he fought in 2005, grabbing 23 per cent of the vote.

Dakers has now started as public affairs manager, reporting to director of research Charlotte Turner. He previously held a senior post on WWF's campaigns team.

Business in the Community helps companies to improve their impact on society and the environment.
