The Crafts Council appoints director

The Crafts Council has brought in Amanda Jones as director of external relations.

Jones was previously programme director of arts & heritage at the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, a position she held for two years.

At the Crafts Council she is responsible for comms, research and information and the website and magazine.

Jones has worked in arts management for more than 20 years, specialising in communications.

She has also been head of press for The Royal Ballet, the Royal Opera House and has spent five years at the Barbican.

Jones replaces Sue Davies, who left in February to pursue other interests.
