Ogilvy fills global director position

Ogilvy PR has appointed a new managing director for its global corporate practice, to be based in London.

Kiersten Zweibaum joins Ogilvy on 7 April from WPP sister agency GCI Group, where she is director of its global corporate practice.

Zweibaum will be based at the agency's London office, answering to Ogilvy CEO Marcia Silverman based in Washington DC. She fills a role that has been empty for four years.

Ogilvy EMEA CEO Martin Liptrott said: 'Ogilvy decided to appoint the role in London because a lot of global corporate contracts now have a European focus.'

Zweibaum will provide strategic leadership for corporate clients across the Ogilvy network. Her expertise lies in corporate reputation, from brand-building to crisis management.

PRWeek recently revealed that Ogilvy UK was conducting a wide-ranging review of its UK PR operation that would see three senior staff facing redundancy (PRWeek, 1 February).

Ogilvy PR UK is believed to employ 45 people.
