DIARY: Luther gets cosy with Lembit Opik

Cheeky Girl-romancing Liberal Democrat Lembit Opik has been conducting a secret relationship, Diary can reveal.

We have it confirmed that the wonky-faced MP, famous for worrying about the likelihood of a meteor strike, has been advising public affairs bigwigs Luther Pendragon.

Luther is not a member of the APPC, so does not fall under its code of conduct, but surely the body will frown upon this anyway?

Agency partner Mike Granatt told us: 'We employ him occasionally as a freelance presentation trainer, largely to help train younger staff on the skills required, for example, during a pitch. For the sake of clarity, we have never used him for anything connected with his role as an MP, and nor would we.'

Granatt confirmed that Opik is paid in cash, but said he had only been used 'three or four times in total'.

Nevertheless, shouldn't Opik have declared this work for Luther in the parliamentary Register of Members' Interests? He hasn't in the latest version...

Diary was still waiting to hear back from Lembit as PRWeek went to press. If things get sticky, he could always call his pals at Luther for some crisis advice...
