LETTER: Cultural diversity is important too

Colin Byrne's article (Comment, 7 March) and some of the letters that followed last week (Letters, 14 March) are only half right.

Of course, ethnic and social diversity are important, as we need to reflect the composition of the audiences with which we are trying to communicate.

But if this is true, then surely we must say the same about cultural diversity. London is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. Also, more and more comms programmes are conducted on an international basis.

As a German national recently joining Pleon, one of the things that really appealed to me was the cultural diversity in the London office.

Most comms consultancies like to think of themselves as international in outlook - but are we walking the walk or just talking the talk?
