Bluewater brief for Lexis

Bluewater -- the UK's second-largest shopping centre that famously banned hoodies in 2005 -- has handed Lexis Communications a six-figure account.

Splendid Communications, Brave PR and the incumbent, Kavanagh Communications, also pitched.

The Kent-based shopping centre has briefed Lexis to raise Bluewater's profile as 'the premier fashion shopping location in the UK' and give it 'big brand status' after a reasonably quiet couple of years in terms of marketing.

A spokesperson for Kavanagh said: 'We have worked with Bluewater for two years, fulfilling a regional communications brief. Our international retail portfolio has seen significant growth over the past year and while we will miss Bluewater, we are excited by the opportunities we are currently negotiating.'
