COI service plugs comms job gaps

The Central Office of Information (COI) is creating a recruitment service aimed at filling sudden gaps in government comms departments.

The GovGap service provides government departments with comms staff at short notice by handling recruitment advertising, application requests, queries and applicant screening.

It covers PR, marketing, strategy, research, digital media and internal communications.

The move follows news that the COI is aiming to appoint more regional agencies for government work, a new head of in-house PR and three client directors, based in London (PRWeek, 28 February).
