BIG called in for Trump's controversial golf course

American tycoon Donald Trump has signed Scottish PR firm The BIG Partnership as he continues to press ahead with his controversial plan to build a world-class golf course at a Scottish nature reserve.

The Trump Organization wants planning permission to build two golf courses at Menie, part of which is designated a site of special scientific interest.

Trump's plans were dealt a severe blow in December when Aberdeenshire Council's infrastructure committee rejected the plans.

There will now be a public inquiry held in June, to determine whether Trump can push ahead with the plans. BIG has been charged with drumming up local support in the run-up to the inquiry. BIG director Zoe Corsi will head up the account and report into The Trump Organization MD George Sorial.

Sorial told PRWeek: 'We need support in ensuring we communicate our key messages about the economic impact and the environment.'

The Trump Organization recently parted company with lobbyists The Policy Partnership.
