Clifford offers charity PR advice

Max Clifford has advised charity PROs to use footballers to promote their causes.

The publicist told a conference this week that footballers were good celebrities to use 'because most areas of the country have a team nearby'.

But he warned against approaching footballers through their managers or agents.

'Agents or managers are interested in money. Speak to a footballer's PR person or liaison officer,' he said. 'They will understand the importance to the star's reputation of being involved in a good cause.'
