Huntsworth continues PR results success

Huntsworth is bullish about its prospects for 2008 after posting a 23 per cent rise in profit before tax for 2007 and completing the appointment of a new chairman.

Huntsworth chief executive Lord Chadlington said 2008 looked like it would be strong for PR.

‘Independent MORI research predicts that more than half of UK businesses with a PR budget will maintain their PR spend,' said Chadlington.

Hunstworth, which owns Citigate Dewe Rogerson, Huntsworth Health and The Red Consultancy, saw profit before tax rise to £21.9m, up from £17.7m last year .

The group said in won £50m worth of new business in 2007, 40 per cent which was from existing clients.

Richard Sharp joins Huntsworth as non-executive chairman with effect from the company's annual general meeting in May. Sharp is a former partner at investment bank Goldman Sachs and succeeds Jon Foulds who is retiring.

Earlier this week Chime Communications and Havas also posted impressive 2007 results.
