David MacDonald left Orange last month. He worked on a number of high profile campaigns at the mobile phone company, including 2004’s Band Aid Trust ‘Feed the World’ tie-in.
MacDonald worked agency-side at Hotwire before moving in-house. His consumer tech clients at the London outfit included TomTom, the GPS service.
Industry insiders said the move was not unexpected for the Orange PRO. ‘It’s one consumer brand to another consumer brand; it doesn’t make a difference whether it’s tech or not,’ said the MD of a tech agency.
L’Oreal recently handed a six-figure brief to Cow to build its ethical brand credentials (PR Week 11 January 2008). The account includes both corporate and consumer work.
