The GovGap service provides government departments with PR staff at short notice by handling recruitment advertising, application requests, queries and preliminary quality checks of applicants.

GovGap covers marketing and communications experts from PR, marketing, strategy, research, digital media and internal communications.

This follows news that the COI is looking to appoint more regional agencies for government work, and is seeking a new head of in-house PR and three client directors, based in London (PRWeek, 28 February 2008).

David Gadd was also appointed as the COI's head of monitoring and content delivery on 21 January (PRWeek, 17 January 2008 ).
