DIARY: Record breakers 'n' wannabe rock stars

The PR world is bloated with fame wannabes, wannabe musicians and wannabes in general. It is the nature of the beast. It also has the odd record breaker.

Juggling both with the aplomb of an, erm, juggler, is Sussex-based Wildwood PR director Jeff Hayward.

Hayward and his band Fractured are releasing their first album on 14 March - 25 years after recording began in 1983. They claim the quarter-century search for perfection - which sounds like pure laziness to Diary - is a record for the longest time ever to complete an album.

This from their agent (Hayward): 'Staying true to their post-punk roots, Fractured have crafted a masterpiece that sums up the mood of Britain throughout the Thatcher-Major-Blair era. Crap - but also edgy, quirky, familiar, yet strangely other-worldly.'
