Virgin runs 'press trips' for bloggers

PR professionals should treat bloggers and online writers the same as print journalists, according to Virgin Atlantic comms director Paul Charles.

He revealed the Virgin team had changed its attitude to online media. 'We are now doing press trips for bloggers and online media journalists,' he said.

Charles suggested checking out bloggers first before approaching them to determine how accurate and reliable they were. 'The bloggers we have approached are delighted that they are being taken seriously,' he added.
