M: drafts in City Insights founder as COO

City agency M: Communications has brought in City Insights co-founder Charles Blount as its first Chief Operating Officer.

In the late 1990's Blount co-founded the investor relations firm which was acquired by a financial PR company in 2003 (PRWeek, 4 April, 2003). He subsequently advised M: in its early years.

'Charles helped us establish M: in 2002 and his advice in building M: into the company it is today has been invaluable,' said M: co-founders Hugh Morrison and Nick Miles. 'His consultancy background has equipped him well to understand the demands of client-facing work and the optimum support structures required for the client teams to deliver first class service.'

After graduating from Oxford, Blount spent several years each with the COBA Group (now PricewaterhouseCoopers Transaction Services), the Kalchas Group (a strategy consulting firm acquired by Computer Sciences Corporation) and Burlington Consultants (now part of Deloitte's corporate finance practice).

As COO, Blount will oversee all non client-facing aspects of the agency.
