Firefly wins £500k digital brief

Firefly has beaten four rivals to a pan-European brief thought to be worth in the region of £500,000.

The London tech agency won the business from Swedish digital marketing outfit TradeDoubler, headquartered in Stockholm and listed on the Nordic stock exchange.

Firefly was already working with the company's search engine marketing arm, The Search Works, but pitched for the rest of the business alongside incumbents Say Communications and Bite, as well as two other agencies.

Say had been working on TradeDoubler's UK account, while Bite held the digital marketing firm's European brief. Firefly will now handle the consolidated business, with CEO Claire Walker leading an account team of nine.

The agency will aim to promote TradeDoubler as a market leader in digital marketing both in the traditional press and online. The Swedish outfit has offices in 18 countries, with a network of website publishers and advertisers including Dell, eBay and Apple Store. TradeDoubler has also worked to raise brand awareness of increasingly popular web businesses such as the DVD delivery service LoveFilm.

Firefly will report to TradeDoubler's newly appointed group marketing director, Caroline Taylor.

- Separately, Say Communications has been hired by South African search specialist Click2Customers to launch the business to the UK market.
