Contract builder hires Cavendish

Construction firm Willmott Dixon has called in public affairs support as it strives to win government contracts to build schools and hospitals.

Cavendish Communications will advise the firm on the direction of government policy in these areas and attempt to forge links with key decision-makers in Westminster and Whitehall.

Willmott Dixon head of comms Andrew Geldard said: 'We have asked Cavendish to advise on how to make sure our voice is heard more clearly by government and other opinion-formers.'

The account will be led by Cavendish MD Alex Challoner.

The agency was recently appointed by the Guild of Travel Management Companies to lobby against further hikes in air passenger duty (PRWeek, 1 February).
