Lexington linked to biotech body

Lobbying agency Lexington Communications has confirmed it is working for the biotech body at the centre of a front-page GM foods expose in The Guardian newspaper.

Last Saturday, The Guardian revealed GM food companies have been lobbying the Department for Food and Rural Affairs to be allowed to hide the locations of crop trials, following vandalism on such sites.

Lexington has confirmed this is part of the agency's retainer work for the GM industry group the Agricultural Biotechnology Council (ABC).

Lexington director Emma Cerrone said Lexington advised ABC on 'all aspects of external comms'.
