Porter Novelli nabs 'metrosexual' guru

Porter Novelli has poached one of advertising's best-known trend spotters to join in the new position of chief marketing officer.

Marian Salzman, who popularised the term 'metrosexual', joins Porter Novelli next month.

She will be based in New York and will be responsible for positioning and developing the Porter Novelli brand globally.

She will also focus on thought leadership and reputation management programmes as well as business development.

'At Porter Novelli we recognize that there is a fundamental shift taking place in marketing communications, one in which influence is increasingly achieved through conversations with stakeholders rather than by brute force,' said global CEO Gary Stockman.

Salzman joins from JWT Worldwide, where she has served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer, leading global business development and overseeing the company's PR resources.
