Laura Aplin will work with the agency's PR and medical comms teams to strengthen the healthcare shop's integrated comms approach.
Aplin has been appointed to the role after covering maternity leave at the agency. Her previous experience includes an eight-year stint at Ruder Finn as director, overseeing its international and domestic business at the agency's New York and London offices.
Her appointment is part of an expansion plan that the agency says has been driven by a series of significant account wins in the areas of HIV, men's sexual health and oncology.
Aplin will work on the agency's accounts with AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson.
