DIARY: Celebrity monkeys nick shoe displays

The celebrity world is at once fascinating and grotesque - and therefore something to which we should all pay a lot of attention.

Partying like a horde of rabid chimps on speed, the denizens of the pages of Heat magazine and thelondonpaper percolate through the national consciousness like an annoying but catchy theme tune.

Still, if an event hosted by The Media Foundry is anything to go by, we should all pay even more attention to celebrity rascals. The good people of the agency peppered the opening of a glamorous private members club, BrandAlley, with displays of Chloe and Paul Smith shoes, D&G clothing, and Damaris and Elle Macpherson lingerie to highlight its class.

Within two hours, the aforementioned monkeys had stolen the lot. So, if you see Pixie Geldof, models Alice Dellal and Ben Grimes Viort, The Horrors frontman Faris Badwan and new Bond girl Gemma Arterton wearing nice shoes, you know where they got them.
