Weber Shandwick appoints for new crisis role

Weber Shandwick has appointed a new London-based head of its European Issues and Crisis Management group.

Rod Clayton comes from his role as executive vice president and general manager of Weber Shandwick’s Southern California operations in Los Angeles.

The newly-created role is part of the growth of the agency’s global corporate practice.

Born and educated in England, Clayton has been with Weber Shandwick for 12 years, based first in New York and most recently in LA. He previously worked on the global product recalls for Mattel, and client activities related to the September 11 terrorist attacks.

He will report to Weber Shandwick UK and Ireland CEO Colin Byrne and MD of the UK Corporate Practice Michael Prescott.
