Agencies in place for big summer music festivals

The O2 Wireless Festival and the Big Chill have reviewed their PR arrangements ahead of the 2008 summer season.

O2 Wireless Festival organiser Live Nation has appointed music specialist Hall Or Nothing after a four-way pitch. The two-year incumbent, Amazing Media, was one of the agencies that took part in the pitch.

Live Nation PR director Christine Gorham said the variety of bands and artists taking part in the festival meant it needed to attract a different audience on each of its four days.

She identified the challenge for the agency as promoting the 'credibility of artists while also targeting the lifestyle media'.

Separately, the Big Chill 2008 festival has handed a nine-month retainer to Idea Generation.

Founder Katrina Larkin said: 'Idea Generation will fulfil a creative brief, using its cultural networks to set up content and artistic partners.'

The cultural specialist will run an on-site press office as well as increasing awareness of the brand pre- and post-event.
