The National Basketball Association (NBA), the governing body of one the US's most popular sports, is beginning a Europe-wide push for exposure. The organisation has brought in Pitch PR to conduct a campaign from London.

The NBA brand, and basketball in general, has pockets of popularity across Europe, such as in Greece, Italy and the former Eastern Bloc. But it is overshadowed by football coverage in most European nations. 'Basketball is the most played sport after football in the UK,' said Pitch founder Henry Chappell. 'But it does not get the coverage it deserves.' The brief is the first time the NBA has commanded a retained European account.
